The Principal
Kathleen Chang

Kathleen Chang graduated with a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music Studies from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Prior to that, she was awarded the Advanced Performance Certificate from the Australian Institute of Music, Sydney. She studied with leading pianists such as Yeoh Jun Lin (Kuching), Dr Ian Holtham, Margaret Hair, Len Vorster and the late Maurice Till in Australia and New Zealand.
Kathleen performed frequently in concerts and competitions in Australia and New Zealand. For her Master of Music  Studies, Kathleen combined a public recital with a pedagogy-based dissertation. She took up violin as her second instrument when she was 13 with Brian Lee and the late Gilbert Kueh. She furthered her violin studies with Fintan Murphy and Anthony Doheny at the Melbourne Conservatory of Music.

Violin Teacher
Tatiana Romero Vargas
Tatiana Romero Vargas, graduated with a Bachelor of music from the Conservatory of music in Seville in Spain. Tatiana has developed career as Orchestra Violin Player and as a teacher at young age. At the age of 17, she joined the Simon Bolivar National Orchestra of Venezuela and some years later at the age of 22 she joined the World Youth Orchestra. She was a member of some European Symphony Orchestra, (UK) Salzburg Chamber Soloist, (Austria) Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville (Spain), and Orchestra Do Norte (Portugal). Tatiana played as soloist in Colombia and Spain. Tatiana is currently teaching violin and viola at Century Music School since July 2014.

Flute and Cello Department
Yvonne Chung
A graduate of UMS with a Bachelor in Arts, majoring in Music Studies. She studied her cello under a Polish teacher, Halina Ostojska-Rubczak. Yvonne has been performing on her flute for KK Jazz Festival for 3 consecutive years from 2007 to 2009, Sabah Art Festival (2009), Sabah Music Festival at the Tip of Borneo, Kudat & several performances with Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra (JPO). She also performed on cello for Kota Kinabalu Symphony Orchestra (KKSO) strings ensemble. She was the former Music Studies Coordinator of Sabah Institute of Arts till 2010. Yvonne also did recording on flute with Sabah local jazz artiste, June Tan who is now based in Japan. She also plays flute & cello for functions. She teaches Flute, Cello as well as Piano.

Classical and Acoustic Guitar Teacher
Kenny Then
A graduate from James Cook University, Queensland Australia.. Kenny is one of the few Classical Guitarists in Kuching to have graduated with a Bachelors in Creative Arts, Majoring in Performance, James Cook University, Queensland Australia. While in Australia, he performed together with the Townsville Guitar Orchestra and Townsville Guitar Quartet. Performed for various solo events such as the Melbourne Cup, and the opening of the new music faculty of JCU (2008). Masterclass participation includes Maestro Yang Xue Fei, Alvaro Sanchez, Karin Schaupp and Peter Korbel. In 2009 he won 2nd place in the Malaysia Classical Guitar Competition organised by Guitar Collection Sdn Bhd held in Kuala Lumpur.

Drum, Keyboard and Saxophone Teacher
Marlton Valentino
Marlton graduated from IMH Academy with a Diploma in music and has a grade 8 in drums. He started teaching at the age of 20. Marlton started playing drum since he was 10 years old and he started performed for ASIAN FILM FESTIVAL  (AIFFA) on his drum and traditional instrument such as Beduk and Gendang Sunda. Marlton is also actively involved in a percussion group knwon as Drum Call Community, actively performed with local bands in Kuching. Besides playing drums, he also plays the keyboard as a second instrument and the saxophone.


Piano Teacher
Wan Syarila Binti Wan Mohamad

Wan graduated from UNIMAS in 2006 with a Bachelors Degree in Plant Resource Science & Technology. A long-serving Century teacher with five years of experience, she decided to pursue a career in music after realizing that her passion was in music, which she owes to her family. Her father is an active jazz pianist and her late grandfather, Dato Hj Wan Othman B Wan Hamid,  was the composer of the State Anthem of Sarawak.

Wan has been actively performing in wedding receptions and company functions around the city. She is currently the keyboardist for the Century Music Performing Group. Small-sized with a cheerful personality, Wan enjoys teaching and will make learning music an amazing experience.

Piano Teacher
Annie Cheong
Annie Cheong had her piano lessons under the guidance of the late Datin Julia Chong and Mdm Yeoh.  She completed her diploma level in 1990.  Since that, she started her piano teaching and continuously upgrade herself by joining musical workshops, seminar, musical events.  Annie had gained experience with different musical approaches during her studies with Datin Julia.  She is actively involved in church and sacred music, playing both piano and organ. In 1995, she had been contracted to play for a five star hotels lobby live music in the evening. She has been occasionally invited to perform in trios for private events.

Apart from playing the keyboard instruments, she is also playing the Chinese instrument Ku Zhen under the guidance of Mdm Kor and Miss Du from China.  She had her Ku Zhen group performance during Kuching festival in 2007; performed for China International Womens Day on 8 March 2008.
